It is the combination of rich color and bright clarity that gives soprano Anna Buck a uniquely vintage sound. Anna is the 2017 winner of the Ball State Graduate Concerto competition and appeared with the Ball State Symphony Orchestra.  This spring, she will perform the role of Sister Genovieffa in Puccini's Suor Angelica.  Anna most recently performed the roles of Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro. In the Fall of 2017, she sang the title role of Béatrice in Béatrice et Bénédict.  Ms. Buck also appeared as Antonia in The Man of La Mancha with the Asheville Lyric Opera. Recent credits include Laetita (The Old Maid and the Thief) at the Jacobs School of Music and Pamina (The Magic Flute (Abridged)) with Reimagined Opera for Kids.

Her 2014-15 season included performances as Phyllis in Iolanthe with the IU Gilbert and Sullivan Society, First Debutante in The Last Savage with Indiana University, and a return to her alma mater, Indiana State University, to perform as a guest soloist in Mozart’s Regina Coeli in C Major. She was also selected as a participant in the OperaWorks Advanced Artist program in Los Angeles, CA where she was a featured soloist in the original production Opera Reimagined: Singed.

Ms. Buck has also performed various partial roles including Antonia (Les Contes d'Hoffman), Norina (Don Pasquale), Ellen (Lakmé), Ännchen (Der Freischütz), Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Tallulah (The Hotel Casablanca), First Lady (Die Zauberflöte), and Zerlina (Don Giovanni). Equally excelling in the musical theatre genre, she played Hope Cladwell in the St. Mary of the Woods College production of Urinetown.

In May of 2016, Anna Buck received her masters degree in Vocal Performance from Indiana University and in May of 2018, she will complete her Artist Diploma at Ball State University.
